Peach OSI 16.04 Barebones and The Works are now ready to download

Peach OSI 16.04 Barebones and The Works are now ready to download. Here is the download page. You may need to refresh your browser while the download page is open in order to propogate the newer download page.

We only uploaded the 4 ISO's late last night through the early morning hours. The download page is not completed but all the links are there except for he links to the alternate download location. We will upload to our alternate download location today and connect the links to tha alternate location soon after.

Later this month we will be updating our web site to reflect the new 16.04 versions of Peach. Please pardon our "dust" as we rework and update our site.

The other two versions, Peach TV and Netbook are still being completed. We hope to have both versions completed within the next three weeks. Netbook is scheduled to be released by August 21st, and Peach TV on Sept.1st. at present we see no issues with honoring those release dates.

I will tell you one thing. I've worked more than 100 hours myself in the last 10 days to get these two versions of Peach ready (not including a few others time and all of our time over the last 7 and 1/2 weeks. I''m not complaining, this is what I love to do.

I hope you enjoy them and that all is not for naught.

I tried the Ubuntu upgrade from 14.04 to 16.04 on Peach 14.04. You were right, as some applications stopped working. Fortunately, I did it on an experimental partition. I've just installed the new Peach OSI 16.04 Barebones version 64-bit, and it is fast, fluid. Every application I had in 14.04 works in 16.04 too! You certainly tidy up things, and it shows. I am also pleasantly surprised that it has the Cinnamon and MATE desktop environments already preinstalled if one wishes to use those. So far everything is working perfectly. I noticed some new applications like Remmina and the Xfce Panel Switch that can come in handy. I haven't tried the Bluetooth features yet. Still, I miss the old 14.04 boot animations with that strange and wonderful Peach OSI logo. Thank you for this wonderful summer gift. I will keep using this version of Peach OSI and I'll let you know later how's been working for me. Best regards, Ed.
